Child Safety Standards

Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and how we enforce them.

Last updated: 2026-05-25

Our position

WakePup has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors. Accounts found to violate this policy are terminated immediately and reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and applicable law enforcement.

Who can use WakePup

WakePup is not designed for or directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Accounts identified as belonging to users under 16 are deactivated and the associated data is deleted.

What we prohibit

The following are strictly prohibited on WakePup, in any form. Ask titles, custom templates, friend invitations, profile fields, or any other surface where text is stored or transmitted:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any depiction
  • Solicitation, grooming, or attempts to meet a minor for sexual purposes
  • Sexualized content involving real or fictional minors, including AI-generated imagery or text
  • Trafficking, sale, exploitation, or coercion of minors
  • Sharing or links to material that violates any of the above

How we enforce this

WakePup's enforcement combines proactive and reactive measures:

  • User reporting: any user can block or report another user through the friend / inbox surfaces. Reports are reviewed by a human within 24 hours
  • Account holds: credible reports trigger an immediate account hold while we investigate; the reported account loses the ability to send new asks
  • Termination:verified violations result in permanent account termination, deletion of all associated data (except the records we're required to preserve for law-enforcement disclosure), and a ban on re-registration
  • Reporting to authorities:CSAM is reported to NCMEC's CyberTipline as required by US federal law. We cooperate fully with law-enforcement requests through proper legal channels.

Report a concern

If you believe a WakePup account is being used to harm a child, contact us immediately:
